Spring Work Party 2025
Updated: May 4, 2025
Members of FYC and the Dragon Boat Clubs got together for the Annual Spring Work Party on Saturday, April 26.
The day was very cold, very windy and very damp. Thank goodness for hot coffee and the delicious warm lunch served up by the Dragon Boaters! It was greatly appreciated.
“Many hands make light work” as they say, so with a great crew of workers, most of the jobs on Vice-Commodore Emily’s list were accomplished:
- Debris and mud were cleaned off of the ramps and the Main Dock
- Safety boats and tenders were removed from our clubhouse – Doug MacKenzie Hall
- Tables and chairs were set up, the kitchen was cleaned and lunch was prepared
- Tires and carpet were hung along the main dock
- Tenders and safety boats were either launched or prepared for bottom painting
- Most of the moorings were installed in the Harbour; the rest were installed a few days later
- The south docks and sailing school docks were installed. Kudos to the hardy fellas who worked in the cold water in chest waders!
- Sailing school boats were taken out of the school building
- Trees and shrubbery were trimmed, and branches and leaves raked away.
- Race marks were painted and prepared for numbers to be added later in the week.
Great work everyone!!
