Join us at the Annual FYC Open House as we celebrate almost 73 years of fun on the water in London!

Fanshawe Yacht Club welcomes members of the public to tour our facilities and to try sailing (weather permitting)!
Our club will be open Saturday, May 23 & Sunday, May 24, 2026
Times: 10:00am – 4:00pm
Admission into our Club is Free!

Tour Our Club!
Check out our club facilities on beautiful Fanshawe Lake inside the Campground at Fanshawe Conservation Area:
- Enter through Fanshawe Conservation Area Main Gate off of Clarke Road & let the gate personnel know you are coming to the FYC Open House
- Proceed across the dam and right to the Campground to check in with campground personnel about visiting the FYC Open House
- Follow the Campground Road to FYC’s gate where our Greeters will meet you and help you to begin your tour.

- Learn how affordable, accessible and fun sailing can be!
Sailing can be very accessible for all! There are various ways of getting out on the water, learning to sail, even buying a sailboat which won’t break the bank (for example, affordable sailboats are often listed for sale on Kijiji or Facebook Marketplace!). Our members are happy to answer any questions you might have about sailing at FYC. You can also reach out to us via the website Contact FYC form.
Try Sailing!
If the weather cooperates, try sailing if you are over age 6 (or turning 6 in 2026)*. We recommend wearing comfortable clothing and casual or athletic shoes if you want to try sailing. PFD’s (Lifejackets) will be provided once you check in on the Main Dock.
*Due to safety concerns, children under age 6 are NOT allowed on the Main Dock, nor will FYC members supervise children if their parents want to try sailing. All Children must be supervised by a Parent or Guardian at all times while visiting FYC!
Visitor Waiver
All visitors and members of FYC must sign an Open House Waiver:
Click Here to print out a Waiver and bring it to Open House to hand in at the main Clubhouse – Doug MacKenzie Hall. Otherwise, blank waivers will be in the Clubhouse where you will start your tour.
Dogs @FYC
Well-behaved Dogs are welcome on the FYC grounds but must be on a 2meter (6′) leash. Dogs are not to be in the Doug MacKenzie Hall or other building unless they are a service dog. It is the Skipper’s discretion as to whether dogs are allowed on boats.

Though the weekend was cool and often very blustery, the Open House had a great turnout. Thanks to the 220+ visitors who stopped by and the many FYC members who helped to make the weekend a success. In the video and in a couple of the photos, you can see a few intrepid guests enjoying a sporty sail on a Y-Flyer!

Examples of some of the boats which may be available to take visitors out to try sailing. Sailboats at Open House can range from 14-16′ two person dinghies used by the Sailing School to larger daysailors or cabin boats in the 18-26′ range. PFD’s (lifejackets) are provided.
