2026 Commodore's Parade & Reception - Sunday, May 17
Change of plans this year
This year due to late access to FYC, our traditional sail past to kick off the sailing season was changed to a Land-based Parade past the Flag Staff. Sailors brought their imagination, creativity, and best sailor spirit representing the different fleets and roles at FYC which helped to make it a festive and memorable parade. The salute of several “volleys” from the pirate “cannon” representing the Puddle Duck fleet added an unforgettable moment to the day.
After the parade, we met at the Doug MacKenzie Hall to meet the 2026 Board of Directors, followed by a lovely high tea and a relaxed afternoon with fellow members. Thanks again to all of the volunteers who worked so hard to make this event special.
We were also very pleased to welcome our special guest, Mark Scott, Commodore of Oxford Sailing Club in Woodstock, and his wife Janet, who will be joining us for this special occasion. (OSC is based on Pittock Lake)
It was a wonderful day full of club spirit, good company, and lots of sailor’s tall tales.
